Japan

It was only recently, in the wake of the Christchurch earthquake, the Queensland floods and cyclone, the Victorian floods and the WA bushfires, that I posted on the disaster resources made available by the Australian Psychological Society.

Now, there is the terrible news of the earthquake and devastating tsunami in Japan.

Quite simply heartbreaking. What's heartening is the mobilisation of so many nations around the world to extend help. My thoughts are with those affected and with those that will be involved in the search and recovery missions.

Coping with disaster

Bushfires, floods, cyclones...Seems that Australia has pretty much copped everything in the past couple of months. Now with the latest disastrous events in Christchurch, New Zealand, it seemed timely to point out the following resources freely made available by the Australian Psychological Society for coping with disasters:

The Psychological Cost of Disasters

Flood resources

General disasters

International Disasters
