Thank you

Over the past year and a half, I've put up a link to either of my two online studies looking at the way people think about illness. I'm just about to stop collection of data on the second study and now starts the hard work (for me, at least) of the statistical analysis of the data and later the write up and (hopefully) publication of the findings.

Being able to conduct psychological research online is great. It opens up your study to participation by a much wider range of people. I certainly very much appreciate the people that have taken the time to complete my questionnaire.
So, a very BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped me out.

Missing in action

I can't believe, well, yes I can, that I have let this blog lapse again. Loads of good intentions, all swept away under a tidal wave of work. I know now why PsyBlog posted lists of things she had to do. Basically, that's how life is currently, lists of things to do...and never getting to the bottom of the list.

I haven't forgotten this blog or the others but am currently tied up with.....

1. Finalising a paper for publication
2. Writing a chapter for a book due at the end of July
3. Managing my current study that I've plugged extensively on here!!
4. Writing up the first study
5. Preparing the next study
6. Completing an advanced course in psychopharmacology
7. Marking copious numbers of student papers
8. Working in private practice

I will be back soon. I've realised I need this blog for my own sanity.

For all those who have taken part in my study, THANK YOU!!!

Still need big numbers, so if you have a few moments and need that kind of excitement in your life (ha!), please see blog post below.

Happy New Year

Here's wishing you all a Happy New Year.

Apologies for the extended absence but, hopefully, I will be back on track with regular posting from this point forwards. Thanks to all of you who hung in there.

Over the Christmas period, we have gained another family member. You might remember the addition of Sushi, bottom photo (helping with the washing), and now 10 months old. We have now gained Wasabi, 10 weeks old, and chilling in the top photo. Both lhasa apsos. Wasabi may have some major health problems, in which case the breeder will want to take him back, but we're hoping he gets a clean bill of health later this week as he's already firmly embedded in our family.

Pets as therapy? Absolutely, and given the number of animals we now have, we should be the most chilled house ever.Or so goes the theory!

With the blog, I am tidying up defunct links. If your link inadvertently disappears or you have a new link you'd like to see added, please email me at clinhealthpsychATgmail.com.

I have checked all links at Psychobabble Resources but intend building on these resources and highlighting key information for the different areas. I want to expand beyond Australian resources. An ongoing project. Again, please, if you come across links/information that would be useful for people, please send me an email as above.

I am also setting up a separate blog Rumin8 covering my research area, rumination, to keep track of developments in rumination research but this progress on this is limited so far. If, however, you have an interest in this area or have some useful links, please email me at the address above.
