Another day, another study and one that you can participate in regardless of where you are geographically located.
I thought this one might be of particular interest to my fellow bloggers, people who obviously enjoy the written word.
From the Black Dog Institute:
Over the centuries, many people have been naturally drawn to writing about their life and their experiences, through journals, creative writing, and other forms of written expression. Day to day life can be stressful as people strive for balance between family, friends and work. We are interested in whether certain kinds of expressive writing can be helpful for people in managing their moods, stress levels and general health. The ‘Writing and Mood’ study is investigating whether particular ways of writing about our lives and our experiences can offer benefits for our moods, emotional and physical health. We are also interested in whether people with certain personality styles find writing in certain ways to be more helpful than others.
If you are interested in finding out more or even taking part, you can read more about the study or register here.

Research online - what a great psychology opportunity eh? Have tried to register here at Blackdog - no luck so far. Will try again. Great links HP.
I absolutely agree with the study. Personally, when I'm stressed I flip open my laptop and start blabbing whatever comes to mind, progressively, within a few minutes, once I start to get everything off my chest and in to a document, I can breath easily and my mind is crystal clear. All my writing goes to Triond.com there they have a vast number sites each dealing with different issues. I personally write alot to their health site, journal, and surf on their offbeat site when I need some inspiration or just a good laugh. To tell you the truth, I actually made some money from the the articles I wrote, but I'm honestly not in it for the money, writing is my life, always was and always will be, it's my fix! When I noticed that I made some money, I understood that my work gained coverage and that I spread my thoughts far and wide. Why would I ever want to stop writing?
Hi Alison,
Blackdog is an excellent site. I've signed up for this research. Interesting so far.
Hi Lifethroughwords,
Thank you for commenting. Writing can be an excellent release. I've never heard of Triond.com. I'll make sure to check it out.
Hi Health Psych,
It's just so funny when people say that they never heard of Triond, especially writers. I mean, they have such a huge community and such a wide network. Anyways I'm adding a link to Triond so you can scan the writers horizon.
If you sign up, I'd be glad if you would add me as a friend on your profile so I can read your work.
I'm Ron82
Thanks and take care
Thank you for the link, Life through words. I'm a reader rather than a writer, although I am signed up for the Blackdog study.
In the back row when the creativity gene was given out I'm afraid but I enjoy the creativity of others, so I will check Triond out. Many thanks. HP
Thanks for the link. I am going to have to sign up:) It is amazing what we can find online.
