Mindfulness Meditation in Cancer

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I blogged earlier about the increasing application of mindfulness meditation within the context of cognitive-behavioural therapy for both physical and psychological problems.

I noticed that Dolores Foley, a PhD candidate from Macquarie University in Sydney is investigating the benefits of mindfulness meditation in the context of cancer. Dolores is currently looking for people who have been diagnosed with cancer or carers of cancer patients to participate in an eight-week mindfulness training course. A great opportunity. For more details, please read here.

Yep, I totally believe meditation is a great aid to strong mental health. I often recommend it to clients and teach them a very simple form. I find in my personal life, it is a deeply regenerating tool. The problem is remembering to do it! I think there's an amount of self-discipline involved.
